Wildcat Wrestling needs YOU!

In 1980 the West Bend Wrestling Booster Club was formed by a group of wrestling parents.  That organization evolved to be what we now know as the Wildcat Wrestling Club.  Since its inception, nearly 30 years ago, this organization has been administered by a continuous stream of volunteer parent’s.  In the recent years, however, the number of parents willing to contribute has dwindled while the number of wrestlers has expanded significantly.  This has placed a recognizable burden on the small group people that currently make up the Wildcat Leadership Committee.  Of even greater concern is the fact that our current leadership committee is made of parent’s of children that will very soon be transitioning to High School and out of the Wildcat program.  If we are unable to pass this leadership role to another group of parents, the future of Wildcats will be in serious jeopardy.  Moreover, we are in a time when our community has come to rely on club programs as our primary opportunity for youth sports.  Simultaneously, our school district administered middle school sports have all but disappeared.

I would like to personally invite each of you to consider supporting the organization any way you can, no experience necessary.  If you would like learn more about how you can get involved, please do not hesitate to contact me.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL BE NEEDED THE NIGHT OF REGISTRATION:

• $20.00 Club fee (NOTE: This fee will go up to $35.00 if registered AFTER 10/28/08)
  • This fee includes a Club T-shirt and registration in our own Club tournament which will be held 1/13/08 this year.
• $30.00 for a mandatory USA Wrestling Card
• $50.00 REFUNDABLE deposit for singlet rental
• $50.00 REFUNDABLE deposit for tournament work deposit
• Copy of wrestler’s birth certificate
• Your child's physician contact information
• Medical history
• Insurance information

The first night of practice, will be December 1, 2008.  Practices will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings at the West Bend High School wrestling rooms from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

The Wildcat Wrestling Club’s mission, is to give youth wrestlers the opportunity to learn the sport of wrestling through a positive practice environment. 

We will provide young wrestlers with real-life experiences that build and strengthen character traits, such as:

• competitive spirit
• responsibility
• self discipline
• goal orientation
• self confidence
